1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air Sedan

Possibly the most recognized American automobile on the planet.

This is an orignal, unrestored example of family transportation from the 1950's. With the exception of an 2 speed automatic transmission and a tinted windshield, this Bel-Air has no other optional equipment:

No side view mirrors, back-up lamps, radio, power brakes or power steering. White sidewall tires are a recent change as the car was built with black sidewall Firestones. The original un-used spare is still in the trunk.

It packs the standard power plant offered in 1957, the "Blue Flame 140" 6 cylinder.

This particular vehicle was manufactured at GM's Chevrolet assembly plant in Kansas City, Missouri and purchased new in May of 1959 from Nielsen Chevrolet Company in Columbus, Nebraska. The selling dealers nameplate is still attached to the decklid. It was purchased in Ogalalla, Nebraska in 1993 with just under 14,000 original miles and driven to the greater Boston, MA area.

The 1976 Nebraska State Inspection sticker is still attached and shows just over 11,000 miles in the year of issue, 1975.

The current odomoeter reading is just over 17,000 miles.
