1967 Dodge Coronet 500 Convertible

Can't you just see Jane Hathaway pulling into the Clampets sprawling manse in Beverly Hills (see the Beverly Hillbillies) looking for Jed or Granny to warn them of Mr. Drysdale's latest ploy.

So here it is; basic topless transportation for 1967. The 500 model is merely a trim package. The 440 model represented the entry level for the Coronet line with the 500 coming in as the mid-point offering and finally RT, or Road and Track, to round it out with performance offerings.

However, as with all Chrysler products, these cars could come with loads of options including powertrain upgrades to the 383, 440 and 426 Hemi.

This particular model is powered by a 318 mated to a 727 automatic. It was sold new in 1966 to a private party in Schuylkill, PA. When the owner retired to Tarpon Springs, Fl in 1992, it went along for the ride. It was later sold in 1994 to a private party in Lynnfield, MA. The car, affectionalty now known as the "500", became part of the Green Acres family in 2000. Since that time, it has had a PST suspension upgrade-front and rear, dual exhausts, fresh radiator, alternator, minor frame repair, new interior door panels and correct era Group 24 battery and 15" magnums sporting BFG Radial T/A's. Today it has 117k miles and drives like new. This is a turn-key, reliable and tight car.
